At Steady in Hope, we understand how overwhelming it can be for children and families facing difficult situations like illness, grief or medical procedures. Our child life services are here to provide compassionate and tailored support.

Our approach creates a supportive environment empowering children to express themselves while building coping skills to face challenging times.

Through our initial consultation, we will create a treatment plan that supports your families specialized needs. Services are available wherever you are. Steady in Hope can provide services in your home, virtually or throughout the community like a library or park.

Steady in Hope provides services in Tarrant County, Johnson County and some Dallas and Denton County areas. Phone and tele health support available outside of these areas.

Who We Help

 

Children & Adolescents who are

  • struggling with the new diagnosis of themselves or a loved one

  • living with an acute or chronic illness

  • facing grief and loss (death, deployment, divorce)

  • siblings support for a perinatal diagnosis

  • impacted by loved one receiving hospice care or on hospice care themselves

  • anxious about medical/dental procedures

Services include but not limited too

  • guidance and support for parents facing a life limiting perinatal diagnosis

  • therapeutic play

  • sibling support

  • education/Preparation of medical procedures

  • school re-entry support following an illness or loss

  • legacy/memory making opportunities

  • parent/caregiver education and guidance

  • educational workshops

Get Started

After contact is made, Steady in Hope will complete a phone or virtual consultation assessing the needs and goals of your family. After the assessment is complete, we will create tailored treatment plans to meet the needs of the client and family. The following session will be direct interventions in the comfort of your own home or community location such as a library or park. Sessions can be conducted individually for the children or with the whole family. Each session is 60-90 minutes with 10-15 minute allocated to cleaning up and debriefing with parents.

We support children and families in the Tarrant, Johnson and some Dallas County areas as well as phone and telehealth visits as needed. 

Fees

At this time we do not accept insurance however, we work on a sliding scale to best meet your family’s financial needs.
